Join the Alexandria Citizens Band

How do I join?

• Be able to come to Friday night rehearsals, especially the dress rehearsals on the week before a concert
• Check our current concert schedule for which concerts you could play
• A $25 annual dues payment will be required after joining the band
  
• No auditions are required

What should I bring?

• A stand for your music
• Your instrument
• The ability to play through a 2-hour rehearsal
  

Where is the rehearsal room?

We are using the auditorium stage.  You can come into the school from the upper parking lot or the lower lot by the lacrosse field.

If you are coming in from the upper lot, go in through the doors that are closest to the parking lot entrance at West Braddock Road.  Walk straight down the hallway and the auditorium stage will be in front of you.

If you are coming in from the lower lot, walk up the stairs next to the freight entrance and walk on the covered walkway next to the basketball gymnasium.  Go through the first doors on the left, turn right to face the cafeteria, and walk up the stairs on the right to the second floor.  Turn right again to go up a small set of stairs, and the auditorium stage is the first door on the left.

When are the rehearsals?

• The weekly Concert Band rehearsal goes from 8 PM to 10 PM on Fridays.
• The Jazz Ensemble rehearsals are from 6:45 PM to 7:45 PM on most Fridays.
  

Which instruments are you looking for?

• We are particularly looking for musicians who play the following instruments:
• Percussion
• Euphonium
• Trombone
• Tuba
• Trumpet
• Tenor Saxophone
• We have the sheet music for all regular concert band instruments.
